How to Use Your JR Pass & Exchange Order

Once you’ve booked your Japan Rail Pass, expect to receive your JR Pass Exchange Order via post (delivery) or pick-up in your home country. (Delivery is available worldwide and takes only 5 business days.)

Upon arrival in Japan, you can head on over to a designated JR Pass counter. Show your Exchange Order and passport to redeem the actual pass that you can use for your trip. Note that you cannot redeem a JR Pass on behalf of someone else and that the name on the Exchange Order must match exactly the name shown on your passport.
