Top 3 Ski Resorts Near Seoul: Packages with Shuttle Bus & Lessons

I asked some of my Korean friends where they go skiing, and many have mentioned this ski resort near Seoul. Not only is it just an hour away from the capital, but there are also ski lessons available in Korean, English, and Chinese that are perfect for beginners. You, too, can visit this resort by booking an all-in-one package here, which consists of transportation, equipment, clothing, and lessons.

Where to Go Skiing Near Seoul

Winter transforms hilly and mountainous lands in South Korea into some of the best skiing spots in Asia. If you are a traveler who is looking to explore Seoul during this season (December through early February), you can get more out of your trip by visiting a ski resort that is accessible from the capital. Many enjoy wandering in Nami Island or Eobi Valley, but you can choose to add some thrill to your holiday by going (or learning) skiing or sledding. Not only will you get to enjoy the powdery snow, but you will also get to be one with many locals who love going to ski resorts near Seoul.

In this travel guide, my partner and I will share three ski resorts near Seoul that you can visit for a day or stay in for a night. We handpicked them based on popularity among locals and foreigners, location, reviews, value for money, and earliest opening date (available for booking on the first week of December.) Note that you can book any of these resorts here using our promo code TRAVLISTS to get an extra 3-8% discount.

1. Vivaldi Park Ski Resort & Snowy Land

Only 1.5 hours away from Seoul is Vivaldi Park, a ski resort recommended by tens of thousands of locals and foreigners. Many of my friends who are locals have visited Vivaldi Park once or twice, and I have only heard good things about this spot. For one, the resort partners with a lot of tour companies that offer shuttle buses that pick up from Myeongdong or Hongdae. This removes the hassle of figuring out how you can get to the resort.

Another reason is that they have excellent ski amenities and lessons in English and Chinese. This is great if you want to experience skiing for the first time or improve your skills. Non-skiing folks (kids or otherwise) will also enjoy Snowy Land, which has fun sledding amenities and mini-activities for families, friends, and couples.

2. Elysian Ski Resort & Snow Park

As the only ski resort near Seoul that is accessible via subway or the ITX train, Elysian Ski Resort is always filled with visitors who are looking to enjoy winter activities without traveling far. It only takes 1 hour to reach Elysian, and the best part is that there are shuttle buses that pick up from Hongdae, Myeongdong, and Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station.

Our team at Travlists recommends Elysian for its majestic landscape and ski facilities. The slopes are great for both beginner and advanced skiers. Plus, the resort also offers lessons in Korean, English, Chinese, and Cantonese. Those who want to enjoy sledding will have a great time at Snow Park. Their sledding spot is one of the best in the country and is popular among groups of friends, couples, and families.

Foreign travelers who book their visit to Elysian Ski Resort here will also get access to a special Foreigner Lounge, which offers translation services, medical assistance, information, and a free drink! Oh, and if you want to visit Nami Island, know that Elysian Ski Resort is near the island attraction. You can book this 2-in-1 tour to visit both places in one day. (TIP: If you want to go skiing or snowboarding at night, check out this evening tour of Elysian Ski Resort.)

3. Jisan Forest Resort

Compared to the first two ski resorts, our third pick is around 2 hours away from Seoul if you take this shuttle bus. However, Jisan Forest Resort is still one of the best options for foreigners. For one, they were named by Times Magazine as the best in Asia. This is a bragging right that not all resorts get to have. Plus, they offer more premium facilities that those who want to ski, sled, or chill during the winter season can enjoy. (TIP: If you want to maximize your trip, you can book this tour that will take you to Jisan Forest Resort and Everland Theme Park!)

Jisan Forest Resort is less crowded. This is perfect if you want a more intimate and quieter adventure. But similar to the two resorts we have mentioned, Jisan Forest also offers top-notch ski and sled facilities, multilingual lessons in English and Chinese, restaurants, cafes, hotels, and more.

One of the reviews on Klook for Jisan Forest Resort read that “it was 10 times better than the other ski resorts near Seoul”. Another also commented that this is the best place if you want to experience the snow” during the season.
