Japan Travel Contributor & Japanese Posts Editor, Travlists
Eisaku
Currently based in Seoul
I help Travlists with Japan travel guides, Japanese-language articles, travel research, photos, videos, content planning, eSIM booking data analysis, and practical booking details.
I’m Korean, previously lived in Japan, and I help Travlists with Japan travel guides, Japanese-language articles, travel research, photos, videos, and practical booking details.
Japan is the destination I know best. I travel to Japan at least twice a year, and I use those trips to follow what travelers are booking, what attractions are getting attention, how transport options work in real life, and what details visitors may need before they book.
I previously lived in Shinjuku, so a lot of my Japan travel perspective comes from spending time in Tokyo beyond the usual tourist routes. My travel style is simple: I like discovering new places, trying activities I have not done before, and finding casual food, drinks, izakayas, and local spots that make a trip feel more personal.
Okinawa is one of my favorite places in Japan. I like its slower pace, beaches, local food, and the way it feels different from Tokyo, Osaka, or other major city trips. That kind of contrast helps me think about Japan travel beyond only the usual first-time visitor routes.
I’m also usually the person friends ask when they need Japan travel tips. Whether it is where to stay, how to plan a Tokyo itinerary, what activity is worth booking, or which area makes sense for a first trip, I’m always happy to share practical advice based on places I know and trips I have taken.
Outside Japan, I also contribute travel notes from trips around Asia, including Vietnam and Guam. But most of my Travlists work focuses on Japan travel, Japanese-language content, and practical travel planning for visitors to Japan.
For eSIM articles, I help analyze booking data and reader behavior so Travlists can better understand what our readers actually chose after reading our guides. For Japan articles, I help shape content plans based on market trends, travel demand, local context, and what travelers are likely to need before they book.

These are some of the Travlists guides Eisaku contributed to, edited, reviewed, or supported with Japan travel context, content planning, photos, videos, or practical booking details.
Japan travel videos
Photos and videos from Japan trips
I also contribute Japan travel photos and videos for Travlists, including clips used for our TikTok page. These visual notes help us show routes, attractions, and on-the-ground details that are easier to understand through video.
Contribution
What I contribute to Travlists
On Travlists, I mainly support articles that need Japan travel knowledge, Japanese editing, local context, content planning, translation support, or practical travel industry experience.
Japan planning
Japan content planning
For Japan articles, I help with content planning based on market trends and traveler demand, including which destinations, tickets, transport options, and experiences are likely to matter to travelers.
Transport
Routes and access
For transportation guides, I usually focus on practical details like routes, pickup points, train access, airport flow, timing, luggage, and whether the option is easy for first-time visitors.
Tickets
Attractions and theme parks
For attraction and theme park guides, I help check what the ticket includes, how entry works, what travelers should expect, and whether the booking details are clear.
Review process
How I help review travel content
When I help with a Travlists guide, I usually look at three things.
1
Is the information practical?
Travelers often need clear details before they book, especially for airport transfers, train tickets, theme park tickets, and attraction passes.
2
Does it match traveler interest?
For Japan articles, I help consider travel trends, popular routes, seasonal demand, and the kinds of tickets or experiences visitors are likely to compare.
3
Does the recommendation make sense?
Sometimes the easiest option is not the cheapest one. Other times, a cheaper pass or ticket is enough. I help Travlists explain when each option makes sense.
Travlists team
Working with Julian
I work closely with Julian on Travlists guides, especially when an article needs Japan travel research, local context, Japanese editing, photos, videos, or additional travel notes.
Julian usually leads the editorial direction and recommendation structure for Travlists. I help strengthen the practical details, especially for Japan travel, Japanese-language posts, eSIM booking data analysis, and selected Asia travel content.
Together, we try to make Travlists guides useful for travelers who are deciding what to book, how to get around, and what to check before paying for a travel product.

How Travlists uses booking data
When Travlists has enough tracked affiliate bookings, we use that data to understand what our readers actually chose after reading our guides.
This data reflects Travlists reader bookings only, not the entire travel market. We use it together with editorial judgment, product details, traveler needs, restrictions, and practical experience.
You can read more about this on our How We Review page.
Editorial standards
Helpful travel guides before booking
Travlists guides are written to help travelers make practical booking decisions. We use firsthand notes, photos, videos, screenshots, reader booking data, provider research, and contributor input when available.
After reading one of our guides, you should have a clearer idea of what the product is, whether it fits your trip, what to check before booking, and where you can usually get better value.
Some pages include affiliate links, which means Travlists may earn a commission if you book through our links. That does not change the price you pay.
If something in one of my guides looks outdated, you can contact Travlists and we’ll review it.
