Top 5 Spas in Bali for a Rejuvenating Message

We were desperate for a pampering massage in between our tours, so my friend and I visited two spas in Bali. The aromatherapy massage that we had here was easily one of the highlights of our trip. Treatments start from only $27, and it’s also one of the most popular options with more than 3,000 bookings.

Where to Get a Massage in Bali: Spas that are Worth Visiting

No trip to Bali is ever complete without a massage. The island is said to be home to some of the best spas in the region, and they offer authentic treatments that calm the mind and soothe the body. The Balinese technique of massage combines deep tissue, aromatherapy, and stretching, which is perfect for those who want to feel refreshed and relaxed.

There are many standalone and hotel spas that you can find, but below we will share the ones that our team in Travlists found to be the best in terms of location, reviews, local recommendations, and, of course, service. (Like my friend and I, you may be surprised that the treatments are quite cheap. Yes, prices for a decent full body massage in Bali can go as low as $15!)

1. Taman Air Spa in Kuta

Taman Air Spa has been recognized by Indonesia’s tourism bureau as the best standalone day spa in Bali. This is the biggest recognition a massage place can receive, so we made sure to try it out. Their location was somewhere in the middle of Kuta and Seminyak, and if you’re staying somewhere far, you can also book a transfer from your hotel.

From the moment we walked in, it felt very soothing to the senses. We liked how we were surrounded by nature and how the facilities seamlessly integrated with it. The service was superb — the attendants were polite, warm, and attentive to our needs.

We booked the 150-minute Couple Massage, which incorporated the use of vegan products. Towards the end of the treatment, we had a 15-minute bubble bath in a jacuzzi.

The reviews we read about Taman Air Spa in Bali were right. We glad we found this hidden gem, and we cannot wait to go back.

2. Lluvia Spa in Seminyak

Before heading back to the airport, we made an early stop at Lluvia Spa. Situated just 20 minutes from Ngurah Rai, this spa in Bali is the perfect way to end our trip. We had the aromatherapy massage for less than $25, and it helped us recover from fatigue during our weeklong holiday.

What stood out to me and my friend was the warm welcome, the quality of the massage, and the private room that includes an en suite bath. (I would have expected a more aesthetic bathroom, but it was decent and functional.) I also like the kind of zen vibe that Lluvia Spa in Bali has, and I will definitely visit again if I get the chance. (Fun fact: If you typically reserve your trip on Klook, this is actually the most booked massage place in Bali with over 30,000 reservations!)

  • PRICE: Book at a discounted price here starting at $24.4 (vs. regular price of $24.9).

  • LOCATIONS & HOURS: This spa in Seminyak, Bali is located at Jl. Sunset Road No. 28, Seminyak, Kuta, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361. They are open daily from 9am-10pm with the last call at 8pm.
  • BEST REVIEW:

[Overall,] we had a fantastic [3-hour] experience here…no regrets booking this couple [massage,] and will definitely return…in the future.

3. Svaha Spa Bisma in Ubud

Svaha Spa is the wellness brand of Wonderspace, the company behind successful beach clubs and restaurants in Bali. Their location in Ubud, specifically Svaha Spa Bisma, is possibly one of the most inviting spas in the island. They have air-conditioned and open-air rooms that look out to Ubud’s jungle and river, filling your eyes with a calming green. Svaha Spa Bisma is located on a cliff, so it is also very cool and quiet.

We tried booking this spa with a nice forest view. However, we were unable to because our preferred timeslots were filled. However, just looking at these photo reviews, made us really want to pay a visit. Definitely on the next trip.

4. Zen Family Spa in Nusa Dua

If you are looking for a good massage place in Bali where locals actually visit, consider Zen Family Spa. Opened in 2009, this spa in Nusa Dua is one of the first centers that promote Balinese massage therapies. They take pride in their relaxing massage treatments, but a lot of customer reviews also like their location and facility.

While we at Tripcky have not tried Zen yet, we heard that the must-book service here is their Stone Massage Package. The other 3 spas that we have listed are great for deep tissue massages in Bali, so if you want something unique, consider booking the stone massage. (Oh, and despite the name, please note that this Bali spa recommendation is exclusively for adults!)

5. Bali Orchid Spa Kuta

Completing our list is Bali Orchid Spa, another foreigner-friendly massage shop on the island. Championing Balinese care and hospitality, this spa offers affordable treatments for those who need to relax. With close to 500 positive reviews to date, my friend and I find Bali Orchard Spa in Kuta a good spa to visit for our next trip. Most travelers said that they were able to get rid of their travel fatigue here, thanks to their attentive male and female therapists. (If you do end up booking this spa in Bali, please let us know your experience in the comments below!)
