Best Pocket Wifi in Taiwan: Airport Pick-up & Delivery

The first time I went to Taiwan, my friends and I used this pocket WiFi with unlimited data. With just one WiFi egg, our group of five was able to connect to the internet all at the same time. Upon arrival, we easily picked up the rental device at Taoyuan International Airport Terminal 1 and were able to connect online in seconds.

I remember having no issues with the Taiwan pocket WiFi that we booked. It gave us a fast and consistent internet connection throughout our quick 3-day trip. The device gathered signals from Far EastOne, which is one of Taiwan’s major networks. It also came with a decent battery life (our rental device lasted us for a whole day) and was very light to carry around.

If you are looking for a good pocket WiFi to rent, below you will find the best options that are available for tourists. If you want to see the pocket WiFi that we used, click here.

Taiwan Pocket WiFi & SIM Cards for Pick-up or Delivery in Asia

If you’re traveling from any of the following countries, you can also pick up or have your Taiwan SIM card or pocket WiFI delivered to your home before your trip:

Taiwan Pocket WiFi vs. SIM Cards

If can’t decide between booking a pocket WiFi or SIM card in Taiwan, think about who will travel and how long your trip is.

A. Who will travel?

If you plan to travel to Taiwan as a group (three or more people), most likely you’ll stick together for the most part of your trip. For this reason, booking a Taiwan pocket WiFi over a SIM card would be preferable because you can get everyone connected at the same time without having someone use their phone as a mobile hotspot. Also, even if a pocket WiFi device can only accommodate as many users (around 3-5 gadgets per WiFi egg on average), it is still cheaper to rent one than buy multiple SIM cards.

If you will visit Taiwan as a solo traveler, buying a prepaid SIM card may be ideal for you if you will mostly be on your mobile phone. But if you are a digital nomad who needs to connect multiple gadgets to the internet, such as a laptop or tablet, then booking a pocket Wifi may make more sense.

B. How long will you travel?

As opposed to a SIM card, a Wifi egg in Taiwan offers more flexibility because it is rented per day. This means that you can book it for the exact duration of your trip (no paying for unused time!). Let’s say you will explore the country for 6 days, then you can rent it for exactly that length.

On the other hand, prepaid data SIM cards tend to have more rigid plans. The number of days is fixed. This means that if you were to stay in Taiwan for 15 days and suppose there is no 15-day option available, then you will most likely have to buy a SIM card for 20 days. Of course, if the duration of your Taiwan trip is covered exactly by a SIM card data plan, then it would be perfect.
