Inside Gardens by the Bay: 5 Attractions to Visit

When you visit Gardens by the Bay, you will encounter the cross between garden artistry and architectural imagination. The premier attraction is home to world-class structures like the Flower Dome, which made it to the Guinness Book of World Records as the Largest Glass Greenhouse. The Gardens also boasts unique SuperTrees and scenic walkways that take you above eye-candy horticultural collections.

Before you visit, know that Gardens by the Bay is comprised of several free and paid attractions or zones. There are five main ones, and we’ll talk about them in detail in the next section. However, if you are already planning to visit, you can check to see if Gardens by the Bay tickets are available on your travel dates below:

1. Cloud Forest

gardens-by-the-bay-ticket-price

Let’s start with the most popular sub-attraction of Gardens by the Bay: Cloud Forest. Here you will conquer a mountain-like structure that features the world’s tallest indoor waterfalls. As you make your way up to the peak, you can drop by the Orchid Heaven to see vibrant orchid displays and the Cloud Forest Gallery, which narrates the interconnectedness of life in a stunning touch-screen display.

As you continue your ascent, you will encounter one of the most photographed spots at Gardens by the Bay: the forest canopy trail called The Tree Top Walk. Press forward and you will enter Crystal Mountain and The Cavern, which showcase a new digital art experience and unique plant species that do not grow on soil (yes, there’s such a thing!). Before you reach the most mysterious peak called The Lost World, you will get a mini up-in-the-cloud experience at the Cloud Walk. Here you can enjoy the views of Gardens by the Bay and Marina Bay.

If you plan to visit Cloud Forest, our team recommends timing your visit during the misting hours at 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, and 8pm. The misting will add more mystery to the fascinating structure.

2. Flower Dome

Welcome to the largest glass greenhouse in the world: the Flower Dome. This expansive conservatory at Gardens by the Bay can house around a thousand people at once and fit more than 70 Olympic-size pools. It’s so huge that it made it to the Guiness Book of World Records!

Baobabs.

What’s inside the Flower Dome, you ask? When you visit, you’ll get to discover artistic displays of blooms from around the world. Spend time in all the geographically divided zones like the Australian Garden, South African Garden, South American Garden, the Mediterranean Garden, and the Californian Garden. Our team at Travlists also enjoyed our time at The Olive Grove, where we spotted the thousand-year-old tree. We also liked the Succulent Garden, an imaginative take on deserts without the prickly heat.

But the two must-visit spots at Flower Dome are the Floral Field and the Baobabs. The Floral Field, which is located at the center of the conservatory, is a space where special exhibitions are held once or twice a year. The field undergoes transformation every so often, so you can find something new to explore. (As of writing time, the “Impressions of Monet: The Experience” is being exhibited here.) Before you end your visit, take photos of the curious Baobabs, which are Bottle Trees that are a source of food and clothing in the African savannah.

Get admission to The Flower Dome and the Cloud Forest, the two most visited zones in Gardens by the Bay, with just one ticket. Book below for around $44 — use our Klook promo code TRAVLISTS to get 3-8% off!

3. Floral Fantasy

Our next Gardens by the Bay attraction boasts four distinct zones that will redefine your concept of a flower garden. Floral Fantasy, which offers one of the best botanical experiences in Asia, delights with 15,000 fresh blooms inside a neat 1,500 sq. m. space. Our team at Travlists explored this sub-attraction for just over an hour, and we felt that we would have missed a lot if we did not visit.

gardens-by-the-bay-ticket-floral-fantasy

The first thing you will notice at Floral Fantasy is the zone called Dance, which is filled with hanging flowers that sway freely. The overhanging plants and blooms were just beautifully shaped, and one can easily tell that a lot of heart had been put into making this space very special. Sway to the next sub-attraction, and you will find yourself in Float. This is where a mysterious gnome takes center stage. This garden guardian’s name is Nobu, and he watches over an extravagant set of dainty flowers.

The third zone at Floral Fantasy is called Waltz, which has a more rustic feel. Walk closer to the cascading rocks, and you will see Poison Dart Frogs, which are native to Central and South America. Finally, visit Drift, the last garden in Floral Fantasy that tantalizes with stunning rock formations that would make you feel like you are in a cave. (Floral Fantasy also houses the exciting and family-friendly Fantasy Theatre, which offers an immersive 4D ride.)

If you are interested in visiting, know that Floral Fantasy tickets are cheaper compared to the Cloud Forest and Flower Dome ticket bundle. You can book tickets for just around $18 here.

4. Supertree Observatory

gardens-by-the-bay-singapore-supertree-observatory

Google Gardens by the Bay and you will instantly see image results showing the famous Supertrees. These towering vertical gardens, which can go as high up as a 16-storey building, do represent the attraction as a whole. (Even our post’s cover photo shows the Supertree!)

The tallest “tree” at the Supertree Gove is home to Gardens of the Bay’s Observatory. This is one of the best spots in the country where you can soak in the beauty of Singapore. By getting a Gardens by the Bay ticket that includes admission to the Supertree Observatory, you can get access to the open-air rooftop where you can gather unparalleled views of Marina Bay. You will also get entrance to the observatory, which has indoor and outdoor decks for comfortable viewing.

Our team recommends visiting the Supertree Observatory at night for two reasons: you will get to see dazzling city lights from up top, and you will be able to catch the nightly lights and sounds show called Garden Rhapsody. This show is commonly overlooked by visitors, but the shows at 7:45pm or 8:45pm are definitely worth adding to your itinerary.

5. OCBC Skyway

gardens-by-the-bay-singapore-ocbc-skyway-ticket-price

Also located at the outdoor Supertree Grove is the OCBC Skyway, an enthralling bridge that connects two Supertrees. Popular among friends and families with kids, the OCBC Skyway is a 128-meter-long walkway where you can enjoy a scenic 15-minute walk. From a considerable height, you will be able to take in the views of both the Gardens by the Bay and the Marina Bay Sands. (It is also a good place to catch the nightly Garden Rhapsody show!)

Aside from the changing displays of plants, you can also catch world-class exhibitions that tie up well with the nature-themed tourist spot. Many travelers who have contributed to these insightful Gardens by the Bay reviews also attest to the fact that the art and cultural showcases did enhance their overall experience.
