Singapore eSIM vs. SIM Card: Are eSIMs worth using?
Like many travelers, I have tried using an eSIM in Singapore. Previously, I used the Singtel SIM card (physical SIM card) in all of my previous trips. While I never had any issues with it, I also wanted to give an eSIM (or embedded/digital SIM card) a try mainly because it’s more convenient. There is no need to drop by the airport counter to redeem a SIM card, physically install a SIM card on my phone, and put back my original SIM card at the end of my trip.
The two eSIMs that my partner and I tested can be booked online, installed in a few clicks, and activated the moment we land at the airport. I used BNESIM’s 5G Singapore eSIM, which is affordably priced from $1.66 and can be set up in a single click. My partner used Airalo’s eSIM for Singapore, and it worked well with no connectivity loss.
While I have yet to try Klook’s eSIM for Singapore, I also recommend it to my friends who are traveling. I have tested Klook’s eSIM in South Korea, and it got me connected instantly to the internet at a very affordable price. Click below to check the availability of this option:

Meet Airalo, the very first eSIM store in the world. As a pioneer in travel eSIMs, this brand is one of the first to build a strong user base of 10 million and counting. Their eSIM data plans for Singapore are very straightforward — just choose between 1-20GB depending on the duration of your trip and internet usage. My partner used Airalo the last time we went to Singapore, and the 10GB plan was more than enough for him during our 5-day stay. He wrote in his other review that Airalo’s Singapore eSIM is very easy to use and perfect for those who are hesitant about trying a digital SIM card for the first time.
3. Ubigi eSIM for Singapore
Singapore and Malaysia eSIM
10% off promo code: TRAVLISTS • USE CODE ➜
Getting connected online with Ubigi is easier than it is to actually pronounce the brand name (which is you-bee-gee, by the way). If you are looking for a single eSIM that you can use in Singapore and other countries, this is what you’re looking for. Install an Ubigi eSIM once, and you never have to worry about doing so again whenever you travel. But what I appreciate about Ubigi is that they are the only provider that offers both Singapore and Singapore + Malaysia data plans, which are actually perfect for tourists who will visit both countries in one go.
4. Yesim eSIM for Singapore
With unlimited data and VPN
10% off promo code: TRAVLISTS • USE CODE ➜
Coming in next is Yesim, a global eSIM provider that we love for three things: standard (free) VPN for iOS device users, unlimited data plans, and an optional virtual phone number. This Swiss-based company has one of the most packed and best-value eSIMs for tourists, making it one of our team’s preferred digital SIM card brands.
Our experience with Yesim has always been consistent. From the time we purchased and installed their eSIM to actually using it for internet, we have had no issues. Plus, the added privacy they gave with their complimentary VPN made us feel confident as we browsed the web. We also liked that there is the option to subscribe to a virtual phone number with their Singapore eSIM. While we were not able to test this feature, business travelers who need a roaming number can get one at a discounted price.

As one of the major travel internet providers based in Singapore, M1 offers a solid and stable internet connection that tourists can rely on for their trip. M1 is also among the few Singapore eSIMs with calls, so this is your best bet if you want to dial or text a local (Singaporean) phone number.
